San Diego Maternity, Newborn and Baby Photographer, Sheryl Paulino, Pasheoni Photography bio picture

Welcome

Thank you so much for visiting the site. I’m located in San Diego, California and enjoy capturing the essence of a family and family to be. I specialize in maternity, newborn and baby photography. Something about a baby bump, and the sweet baby smell inspires me to photograph what no one else sees, the natural beauty of your family.

Baby Jackson| San Diego Photographer

Fall is in the air. With rain and shine, it’s so hard to figure out what Mother Nature has planned for me and all my lovely clients.

Fortunately with a newborn session, it doesn’t matter what the weather is like (granted I love trying to bring them outdoors, but it’s too cold now). Little Jackson, being 3 weeks old was ready for me no matter what! He was the most squishiest little bub, I couldn’t help squeeze him as much as possible. I loved curling up with him in front of the space heater just to get my squish on. His sister was such a great helper during the session, I wish I was able to spend more time with them both, BUT the darn time change wasn’t letting me as the sun was setting and quick.

Sonia, thank you so much for having me over. It was so much fun working with you and the entire family. Here are your teasers!

Introducing..My Assistant| San Diego Photographer

So it has been long overdue that I have an assistant to help me with everything that is going on in my crazy-busy life. From my marketing job, my photography business, two kids and school…it’s a lot to try and remember. BUT NOW, with a simple command, ‘she’ is here – Siri is here! :)

I have to admit, it’s kinda funny to talk to my PHONE to tell it I need help. Nonetheless, Siri is just a push button away and listens to what I need. From appointments, directions, random information (like when the sun will set), nearby food locations ranked by reviews (great for a foodie like me that loves to try new things, OR prove a point haha) and best of all ‘she’ has a great sense of humor – Ask what the meaning of life is, I’m sure it will be something funny. LOL

It’s completely crazy how dependent we get on technology. I never thought that I would be holding conversations with my phone…yes I told her she was awesome and she replied ‘I know’. haha. HOWEVER, I am NOT as extreme as this guy….

If I ever get this intense….don’t hate! :)

Twice as Nice| San Diego Photographer

Yup, I’m lucky! There is no doubt in my mind that I am in the right profession. With being able to meet new people, make them smile, and capture memories all at once…there’s no better joy (besides ice cream)! I remember last month when I looked at the calendar and told myself that, “Man, this is going to be an INSANE two months.” As the month went on, and after each and every session, I find myself saying, “wow, this is the best time of year EVER!”

Seeing each family grow is such an AMAZING feeling, It’s so hard to explain. With today’s session and seeing the twins, Bryn and Blaine, two little ones I photographed over a year ago, made my heart melt. Seeing how much they’ve grown, how much each of their personalities have blossomed…wow! To top this off….as our fun session came to an end, the BEAUTIFUL Bryn voluntarily laid her two sweet lips on my cheek. It was so sweet, I almost teared up. Gosh I love this job!

Kellie and Steve, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the wonderful evening. I can’t wait to work on these photos! Here are your teasers!

Wissel Family| San Diego Photographer

I LOVE FAMILY SESSIONS! The giggles, the laughs, the chasing, the silly noises and of course the beautiful family. Remember Baby Roman? Yup, this little guy is back for more and boy did I love making him laugh. He is such a smiley, happy baby, he was reminding me of the days when my little ones were as tiny and squishy he is. Then we have the oh-so-cute big sister, Scarlet. Full of energy and loves to explore. Her cute little voice giving me the low down on what she wanted to do, was so fun. As we ran around, jumped up and down, this controlled chaos is what I love most. Seeing everyone just taking a deep breath and seeing that this is life, our crazy life.

Fern, thank you again for coming out to Poway for the shoot. I had a blast being silly and capturing the moment! Enjoy your teasers.

It’s Been Way Too Long| San Diego Photographer

This post has meaning in all ways. It’s been WAY TOO LONG since my last blog post. I’m still here, don’t worry, it’s just been VERY crazy in my other life as a Marketing Manager as well as having two kiddos sick (gotta love the kindergarten cooties that get passed), as well as the most busy time of year for family sessions.

It has also been WAY TOO LONG since I’ve seen this beautiful family. Vanessa and I met over 10 years ago and truly haven’t seen eachother for YEARS. When she told me about wanting to do a family session, I was completely ecstatic. To be able to catch up, hang out and enjoy an afternoon at the beach is one of the best things I love about my job. I told Vanessa that I still had the family photo of when Lania was born. It’s crazy that I think I’ve only seen Lania only a handful of times since that photo was taken. I promise to bring it with me the next time I see you, Vanessa!

Chris, Vanessa and Lania, thank you so much for all the laughs and fun we had at the beach. It was great to enjoy the simple things in life and not worry about anything else around us. Enjoy your teasers.

We Remember| San Diego Photographer

My heart is heavy. Every time I think of what happened, I get the goosebumps. Today, marking 10 years, tears come to my eyes. I remember, the shock, the terror, the state of confusion.

September 11, 2001. I remember where I was. Southwestern College parking lot, listening to the radio. It was 7:15am PST, right before plane two hit. I was ignorant to truly understand what was going on. It was almost as if I was listening to old time radio where they were telling stories via the radio. It was completely surreal. Everyone at school was walking around like a zombie, lost and confused, just like

me. Classes were canceled, work was fixed on the news. There was nothing we can do but listen.

The lives were lost, the heroes that tried, the unity we became. I am thankful. For all who put their lives on the line day to day, thank you. With all my heart, with all my family’s heart, we have gratitude.

2011 Power Outage| San Diego Photographer

So about 1.6 million people know what I talk about when I speak of what happen yesterday in San Diego County. This blackout happened around 3:30pm and stretched as far North as Orange County and as far East as Yuma, Arizona. Crazy! First things first, we are all safe and everyone is doing okay.

Key things to remember now, from a foodie standpoint, is to watch out what’s in your fridge. Visit this site to get a comprehensive list of what’s safe and what’s not. http://www.kogo.com/cc-common/mainheadlines3.html?feed=408120&article=9087368.

From a mommy’s standpoint. San Diego Unified School District IS CLOSED. For the safety of our children, it’s best we let them make sure everything is in working condition and anything consumed is safe.

Now, from a photographer’s standpoint….here is the shenanigans we were up to when going to bed. :)

First Day of Kindergarten| San Diego Photographer

Wow. Just wow. With the San Diego Unified School District starting later than the neighboring districts, I can finally say Keoni started kindergarten! With him starting at this school for preschool, the transition was very easy for him. He was nervous in the morning, but it quickly melted as familiar faces and names came around.

It’s hard to believe that my little boy is now in kindergarten. With this being the starting point of his educational career, I hope it was a positive experience for him.

To mark this momentous occasion, I was already told by the K-man that I need to do a video, just like I did when he started preschool (seen here). So for now, I leave a photo and when I complete the video, I’ll post it too! :)

Oh yeah, and I’m also proud to report that on our first day of school follow up phone call (just as we did last year), NO TEARS WERE SHED! Woohoo!

Fall Sessions Available| San Diego Photographer

Now that school has officially started, I think it’s safe to say we can start planning for the next big event. Do I dare say it….yup…FAMILY PHOTOS for the holidays. I’d be honored to be able to capture your family’s photos for all to see and for you to cherish. I have already booked some key dates, and please take note that I DO NOT do holiday sessions in December. I want to make sure we all leave plenty of time to get cards printed and mailed and shooting in December just cuts it too close.

Speaking of which, I know *I* need to find a willing photographer to dare the daring and do photos for me and my family. And as many photographer’s know, it ain’t easy photographing a photographer’s child ;) . No, but on the serious note. Even if you don’t see doing professional photos fitting in this years budget, please promise me you will at least set up a tripod and do some photos yourself. The years come and go so fast, I can’t believe I’m even typing about the…holidays… already! Man oh man!

Ok, I’m done for now before I start writing my Christmas list hehe.
