Milestone for all of us…

Ok. all of us but Kayla. :P

Keoni’s BIG day…FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL.

I can’t believe how fast time has passed us by. I remember the night when I woke up Paul and told him, get ready, this little man wants out. Now this little man is 4 and starting preschool. It hurt me emotionally to see this, yet I am proud. He’s grown up so much, it just amazes me. He is such a great brother, Kayla will miss him while he’s gone. But it’s okay, it’s only 3 hours. They will both get through it.

Dropping him off was difficult. I can’t say he loved it and left. He didn’t want us to leave, he kept running to the car and he would just stay quiet if anyone would speak with him. I hate sneaking out without saying goodbye, but we had to if we wanted to get to work. I couldn’t wait until 12:20 hit, and that I would get that phone call and when I did, I was soOo excited to hear his day. First words that came out of his mouth over the phone….

“Mama….I CRIED A LOT!!!!”

:(.

Little Bridget

Oh she was just the tiniest little girl, I could just snuggle her all day! Today I had the pleasure of meeting Katie and her wonderful family. We were scheduled to have our session about two weeks from now, but the wee little girl had plans of her own, which I had NO problems with at all. I love love love playing little babies! :)) With Little Bridget being only 6 lbs, it made me reminisce of the time when my Little Kayla was just as small. I can’t believe how fast my little girl has grown. :sigh:..Time sure does fly. I think my husband gets worried every time I have a newborn session – Baby fever sure does hit home! LOL!

Katie, thank you so much for spending Sunday morning with me and my camera. I had a wonderful time playing with little Bridget and having conversation with you and your mom. I don’t want to share TOO much, as I know announcements are still going out, but here are your teasers!

DiSalvo Family

This weekend held true to my typical weekend, BUSY! From dinner in Fallbrook, getting the cars serviced (yes, I said CARS), an evening social event for the hubby’s work, and a wonderful family session, I could honestly say, it was a GREAT way to ‘end’ the summer.

The DiSalvo family came all the way from Arizona! What better way to end the summer than with a family session at the beach. I was a little nervous that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate with them, to be honest, but Mother Nature pulled through, and I am ecstatic with what I’ve captured. I couldn’t help look at all the photos last night and seeing the love, the laughter, and serenity this family gave me all in a moments time. It’s moments like that I love capturing. It’s those moments that mean so much to the heart, and to have it in a frame, is priceless.

Wendy, thank you so much for believing in my work. I had so much fun with your family, I wish that you lived closer so I can meet baby #2 (and get my lens on him/her as well LOL).  Have a safe trip home and enjoy your teasers!

Holiday Mini Sessions Available

With much thought and consideration (and procrastination, I must admit), this year I decided that I can’t skip the holiday mini sessions. It wouldn’t be fair to all those who asked, for me to simply just say ‘no’. :) This time, however, I will only be doing ONE SESSION a weekend. I want to keep the creativity, the uniqueness, and most of all my sanity when delivering a product such as custom photography.

The mini sessions include: a 30 minute session, 15-20 images in a password protected gallery, and a set of 25 5×7 custom designed holiday cards. You are welcome to choose from a traditional print package, to having it all and some with the all inclusive digital package. Please keep in mind that you cannot exchange the sizes of the traditional package to smaller prints. You are welcome to upgrade it to the next size by paying the difference. Trust me, big is better. :)

To request information on the holiday special, please contact me by completing the form found at:

Thanks!

SURPRISE..IT’S A…

Remember this session? Well, no more secrets for Mom and Dad. On August 17 Baby BOY Jayden made his arrival! He is the such a darling little boy and at 5 days old I had the pleasure to meet him and so did my camera. :) I just enjoyed every moment with him. I especially loved how much this little boy made my job easy and just slept and how Mommy and Daddy just did their thing while I worked the magic. It’s been a tad too long since I got to play with a newborn, thanks Chrysty and Jeff for letting me get my fix! :)

Congratulations to you both, Jayden is SOOO CUTE with his oh-s0-chinky eyes (and birthmarked bottom :) ). Here are your teasers!

Oh Creativity…

…how I’ve missed thee.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to actually sit down and ‘play’. These pics were taken ONE MONTH AGO and it barely made it to my digital darkroom. Shame on me…

Keeping it a Surprise

I suck at keeping things a surprise. If I can find out, I want to know. When I found out a middle school friend of mine was keeping the gender of her baby a surprise, I had a flashback (times 2) remembering how waiting 20 weeks was already LONG enough. With Chrysty being ALREADY 34 weeks pregnant, she’s gone 14 weeks longer than I had and is quite content not knowing! I’m not surprised, though. From knowing her since we were…wow..13 years old, I know how strong willed and determined she is. When she sets her mind to something, she achieves it. She has the beauty and the grace that radiates confidence. Now married to an amazing husband, this next step in her (and their) life will be graciously approached and handled perfectly!

Chrysty and Jeff, CONGRATULATIONS on the baby to come! It’s simply amazing seeing all of my friends having babies…MAKES ME SO GIDDY! :)) I couldn’t JUST choose 3 or 4, so enjoy all 6 of your teasers!

Weigh In Wednesdays – Week 3

Coming soon, I promise! Now that I’m ready to post the photo, my phone dies. AND NO, I’m not procrastinating my post…well maybe…

I BLAME THE SAN DIEGO FAIR FOOD FROM SUNDAY!!!!  :P

Ok, Weigh In WEDNESDAY!! LOL. This past week has been  INSANE. I can’t believe it has come and gone this quick. With this weigh in, I already had low expectations. I knew from when we planned our Father’s Day event, I was doomed! From San Diego Fair, to Thai food, to Steaks…there was NO WAY I was going to maintain my points. I think walking down the main strip of the SD Fair had already counted as 20 points! LOL

Nonetheless, I owe it to all of you, my faithful blog readers (YES Kellie, that includes you too hehe), that I post my current stats and what I’ve done to achieve (or not achieve).

drum roll please…..

WOW! I lost weight! Maybe I should go to the fair more often and eat more of their good! LOL. Even though I lost something, I know I could have done better. I didn’t incorporate any exercise like I said I would; the Wii Fit is still collecting dust! I haven’t brought any walking shoes to work (as planned), nor have I even done a single ab workout. How I expect to burn off my bellay fat, beats me! I’m getting lazy, I’ll have to admit. I stopped eating my morning oatmeal; it’s starting to taste that familiar ‘yuck’ when made with WATER! I am eating my bagel thins with WW cream cheese which adds up to only 2 points. It just doesn’t keep me as full as oatmeal does.

I’m tempted to buy this book I found on Amazon. By the time I get home and the kids situated, I literally only have 20mins til we have to start our night time routine of bathing, reading books and bed time. If anyone has this book, let me know how it’s working for you! :)

With it being Weigh In Wednesdays, I have a little Partner In Crime that’s keeping me motivated and on track as she weighs herself in. :) Good night everyone xoxo

Best gift from the ‘kids’ contest

I had to think LONG AND HARD for the perfect Father’s Day gift for Paul. I didn’t want to make the holiday an ‘excuse’ for cool and expensive things, so we both agreed THIS YEAR (so yes, including Mother’s Day) we said it’s going to be From the kids. Nonetheless, I still wanted to give him a kick butt gift that will make his heart melt. He did it to me, and I was determined to do it right back at him. Yes, I’m competitive..but heck HE IS MORE COMPETITIVE THAN ME!

So what better way to make him smile, than to do it with photos. It’s a long lasting gift that actually appreciates in value…and of course, I live and breathe photography! ;). I can honestly say that I thought that I was going to be the ‘worst’ Father’s Day gifter ever. I didn’t think I could pull anything off given the free time we have and the busy schedule we had laid out day prior. With the help of my sister, OH THANK YOU SO MUCH BTW, I sent Paul off to get new tires for my car and off we went. I got the kiddos dressed in Padres gear and headed to Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres. :)

Lighting was patchy, it was almost high noon, the kids were energized (and OMG, my fellow photographers know, it’s not easy photographing your own children..). I thought this was just going to be a snapshot session. I did the best I can and well, my mommy goggles are LOVIN’ them! When it came down to editing the photos, I came out with enough for me to get a digital photo frame and put it all on there. I knew if I printed them all, well, it would make it to the top of his desk and lost in never never land! LOL. So, mission accomplished, and by golly, I think I won this years ribbon for ‘best’ gift. ;)

Here is the photo that inspired me to do the session.

Here is the updated photo!

Then, it’s a must to add the Miss.

Then having some fun around the Park.

I’m tempted to have this printed big, just for Paul.

Weigh In Wednesday – Week 2

Ok, so I didn’t do as good as I wanted. I would like to ‘blame’ the Chinese food we ate for dinner the night prior to my weigh in….LOL! Overall, I know I didn’t try as hard. I was hoping for a miracle that I’d continue to to drop at the rate I initially started, BUT NOPE!

I still eat my daily oatmeal for breakfast and now I’m expanding my options to 100calorie bagel thins with Weight Watcher 1point calorie cream cheese (yum! I could eat the cream cheese alone!). As for lunch, I still stick to what’s in the EDR, but lately I’ve scooped some high point valued food. What makes it worse is that my coworkers are out to SABOTAGE ME! They love to bring in cookies from a meeting, or pastries from home…oh I can’t say no to cookies! :( For dinner, I have my ups and downs. I try my best and some days I do great BUT when we have family over, it’s over!

My goal this week is to kick it up a notch. I’m going to start a light work out and be more discipline. I know I’m ok at the weight I am now, but I just want to decrease my body fat percentage. I need to gain muscle and have it work for me. So I’m going to undust my Wii Fit and work on my core muscles (again). Let’s hope this change does me good!
