Why Hello There

So this is going to be one of those posts where I say…oops, it’s been a long time. I know you’ve heard it from me before, but what can I say…life happens. It’s been a crazy whirlwind of just things, that I haven’t brought myself to just sit down and write about it. As much as I’ve mentally written it, I’ve never formally put it on paper..err, blog post.

I’d love to recap all the great things that has happened since my last post, but quite truthfully, I wouldn’t want to bore you, ha! HOWEVER, yes, there is a ‘however’…One great thing that I have (semi) kept up with is Instagram. If you want to catch up on my haps through photos and a small caption, find me. Username: Pasheoni

I’ve had this account for quite some time, but haven’t truly dug into it, til now. I guess it’s just a quicker way to ‘capture’ (pun intended) what’s currently going on, without having to sit and blog about it. I KNOW, that’s quite lazy of me, but sue me. I sit in front of a computer all day long at my 9-to-5er doing the same thing (ie, social media, blogging, commenting, pinning), just for a company. Yes, it’s a passion, yes I love it, and yes I can get tired at times. :)

You know me, and I always like to post a photo with a post. So I’ve prepared a cute little storyboard of my princess before I started writing. Then, after I started writing my post, a picture of my instagram made a little more sense. But now to not waste a cute storyboard, here is my germaphobe playing with hand sanitizer (and no she did not ingest it…oye some toddlers/parents/guardians).

I will say it…I will post more often, promise. Well, I’ve said it before, and I kinda didn’t…but I will PROMISE to try and post more often. Better?

XOXO

Wissel Family

I LOVE FAMILY SESSIONS! The giggles, the laughs, the chasing, the silly noises and of course the beautiful family. Remember Baby Roman? Yup, this little guy is back for more and boy did I love making him laugh. He is such a smiley, happy baby, he was reminding me of the days when my little ones were as tiny and squishy he is. Then we have the oh-so-cute big sister, Scarlet. Full of energy and loves to explore. Her cute little voice giving me the low down on what she wanted to do, was so fun. As we ran around, jumped up and down, this controlled chaos is what I love most. Seeing everyone just taking a deep breath and seeing that this is life, our crazy life.

Fern, thank you again for coming out to Poway for the shoot. I had a blast being silly and capturing the moment! Enjoy your teasers.

It’s Been Way Too Long

This post has meaning in all ways. It’s been WAY TOO LONG since my last blog post. I’m still here, don’t worry, it’s just been VERY crazy in my other life as a Marketing Manager as well as having two kiddos sick (gotta love the kindergarten cooties that get passed), as well as the most busy time of year for family sessions.

It has also been WAY TOO LONG since I’ve seen this beautiful family. Vanessa and I met over 10 years ago and truly haven’t seen eachother for YEARS. When she told me about wanting to do a family session, I was completely ecstatic. To be able to catch up, hang out and enjoy an afternoon at the beach is one of the best things I love about my job. I told Vanessa that I still had the family photo of when Lania was born. It’s crazy that I think I’ve only seen Lania only a handful of times since that photo was taken. I promise to bring it with me the next time I see you, Vanessa!

Chris, Vanessa and Lania, thank you so much for all the laughs and fun we had at the beach. It was great to enjoy the simple things in life and not worry about anything else around us. Enjoy your teasers.

The Family Bed

When I found out that Marty wanted to do shots on the ‘family bed’, I couldn’t be any more excited. I’ve always LOVED being able to capture a family be who they are, and with this being in the comforts of their own bed, it got me giddy inside. I have to honestly say this entire session was based on inspiration. There were so many photos I wanted to create with my own twist, I didn’t know where to start. Luckily, this BEAUTIFUL family let me play to my hearts content.

Marty and Lory, thank you so much for inviting me into your home. Thank you for trusting my vision and letting me move furniture, balance on beds, and do my baby magic and get Alyssa to poop, ha! Enjoy your teasers!

Little Savannah

I couldn’t be any more excited to photograph a little 9 month old girl than I did today. Little Savannah has been quite the model (and traveler) as she was first photographed by a dear friend and photographer, Tamara Hart. When I received an email that the little miss was ready for nine month photos and was wanting to have them done by me was such an honor. Not only do I get my lens on a very cute cute baby, I was able to meet the mom that had been such a great friend to a friend of mine.

Elizabeth, thank you SO MUCH for coming down to San Diego just to have me play with you and your family. You are so much fun to be with and I hope this opens up more opportunities to show Tamara what she’s missing out on on the west coast! LOL. Here are your teasers.

A Girl and her Ladybugs

I am taking full advantage of the amount of rain San Diego is getting. When I saw my Father-In-Law’s backyard, it was a must mini session with my little girl. This was the first time she’s seen ladybugs in person, and as hesitant as she was, she was also very curious. I seriously can’t believe how fast she is growing. In just a couple weeks my little girl will be turning TWO! She amazes me with how observant she is with her surroundings and how much she expresses her self. I find it so cute when she is distraught and you hear her say, “oOooh NoooOO!” The tiny voice and the shear sadness. Luckily, she is quick to bounce back and be happy once she figured out how to make it all better. Her favorite cartoon at the moment is Ni Hao Kai Lan, and (sadly) Yo Gabba Gabba. She will stop in her tracks when she hears either one. With that said, she’s learn to LOVE her Kai Lan big girl undies and enjoys the freedom of no more diaper. I’m so proud of her. I love snuggling her, and it’s too funny when I ‘resist’ kissing her. She will grab my head with both hands and plant me a big wet kiss…:sigh:. These moments are something I can cherish forever. Now where is the magical photographer that suppose to be capturing all of this for MY family?!

Photo of the Day {17}

Look who found her way to our bed early this morning…and you know what?!  I LOVED IT!

Photo of the Day {16}

This was an emotional day to say the least. I’m very excited and happy for my parents to be able to live their dream and go back ‘home’ to the Philippines, but I’m also saddened that, well they are going to be in the Philippines and not just a couple miles away. Thankfully they are only going to be gone for 4months. Nonetheless 4 months is the longest they’ve been away and they are also full of emotion. Since day one both my kids were being babysat by my mom. When my dad retired from work back in November, he was able to spend M-F with them as well. Kayla just adores my dad so much she’s like a little puppy that follows him EVERY WHERE. We would get to my parents’ by 7am and she’d quickly skip to the room and say,”wayykup Lolo (meaning grandpa in tagalog)!” Keoni always gravitated to my mom. Lola (grandma) always let’s him have whatever he wants..and he knew it.

So as I type, my parents are on a plane and heading back to a place they use to call home. It’s a big change for all of us and I can’t wait til I can pick them back up! :)

Catching up

My goal is to post once a day. Last post I did one weeks worth. Today, 1/2 a week. I’m getting close!

I love it when it’s time to snuggle and read your favorite books.

I’m saddened when I get home late from school and find everyone asleep. Please know it’s a sacrifice I make for a better future for you, my family.

It’s fun when I’m the one throwing the ball :) Late night family time before bed is the best.

Photo of the Day

As the New Year comes each year, I contemplate on starting this HUGE project of taking a photo a day. I want to capture the moments missed, or simply how life is one snapshot at a time. The last time I tried this venture was in 2007 and failed after 30 days. This year, I tweaked my strategy and I’m allowing myself a little more freedom by letting me use my phone. I try my best to use my DSLR, but there will be a day I know I won’t be able to do so and at least I have a back up plan. Another plan of attack on my end is that my sister bought me the CUTEST most efficient camera bag for me to lug my sharp shooter around. So now I have no excuse to get ‘er done! Posting it onto the blog, well that’s a different story. ;) I will try my best to post one a day, BUT most likely it will be a post every Sunday night for the week prior (except today as it’s Monday) Hey baby steps! Give me credit. I started this post on SATURDAY! LMAO. I think I have my strategy down. Here’s to goals in life…may we conquer them one click at a time, one day at a time.  Or as Miley Cyrus says, “It’s the Climb” and I will enjoy what I make of the challenge! LOL
