What a 4 year old should know…

With it being the first day of school today, I wanted to share a very interesting article that I read online. As for myself, and many other parents, I worried if Keoni knew all he needs to know when starting kindergarten. I know of some school that expect children to be at certain levels in language, math and science. Don’t get me wrong, we do what we can in between playing, bonding and meal time, but you never know if it’s really enough, am I right? After reading this article, it got me thinking in a different perspective, and maybe it will do the same for you.

Enlightening eh?

…and the winner is…

First of all, I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Labor Day weekend. It’s been a crazy busy weekend, and I’ve been meaning to share the wonderful news. I hope our winner doesn’t mind having to wait this long for the results. :)

Congratulations to Robin Parker for winning the iPad Sleeve from Undfind! Please visit their website at www.undfind.com and let me know which one you wish to get by emailing me at info@pasheoniphotography.com! Thank you all for participating, and I hope to bring on more giveaways and be able to make all my contestants a winner some day! :)

Breaking out of the Mundane Routine

If you know me, you know how crazy busy our schedule is when it comes to weekdays and weekends. No matter what, there is always something going on. Now that Keoni has started soccer, we’re at the field every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today, however, I just wanted to have some fun time with them. No obligations but to have fun. Granted we did kick the ball around, but there were no drills, no coaching, just ‘keep-away’. I try my best to just enjoy the moment, but then when I look back, there are times I wished I brought my camera. Believe me, yes, this extra appendage does have it’s moments of staying at home. This was going to be one of those moments until dear hubby handed me the bag. So sure, why not? I’m so glad he did….

Little Jordan and his head full of hair just made me want to kiss him all over. The smell of pure sweetness still fills my heart. For others who are reading this and not understand. You’ll see ;)

Sweet Roman

This little guy must’ve known I was coming and worked his magic. He was full, and sleepy. Through outfit changes, blanket changes, AND posing changes, he was sleepy and ready to show off his cuteness. Sissy Scarlet was dressed cute and willing. It’s so much fun to be able to start shooting as soon as I come into a beautiful home. With Scarlet’s beautiful smile, I couldn’t wait to get started.

Thank you so much Fern for giving me this wonderful opportunity, and I can’t wait to have a session with the family again. Here are your teasers!

Rolling in the Deep

This little boy is stylin’ already. Baby Felix was so fun to work with, I wouldn’t want to have it go any other way. His session was the first session done in my Newborn Studio. I’m so excited I was able to try so many different styles! He will be my main model to promote my studio! Thank you so much Kiana for letting me play with Baby Felix. It was so nice to finally meet him and I can’t wait to see him in the near future. Enjoy your teasers!

Pin-dicted!

I cannot help but confess to you all another ah-mazing, yet time-sucking website that I had stumbled upon a couple weeks maybe months back.

www.pinterest.com

What is it?

Pinterest is a place to catalog the things you love.

So yes, at first, I too was skeptical. Like really, who cares what others think YOU would love. Then, the ah-mazing-ness occurred. There were images there of all things beautiful, inspiring and magnificent. I mean, of all places, who would of thought I would find recipes of yummy food or sayings that speak to the heart. Now, I’m all over it. I can’t stop looking at what’s on there, I can NOT look at it on my iPhone (yes, there’s an app for that) before I go to bed at night.

Not another social site.
I mean, the best thing about this, versus Facebook (my other time-sucker), is that there is no drama here. There is no showing off, there is no…judgement. I can go on and see new things and I don’t have to worry about if someone thinks what I pinned was silly.

So if you want to find me and I’m not on Facebook, maybe I’m pinning away. You’ll see me post a couple pins TO facebook; just sharing something random yet meaningful and worth sharing to the ‘world’ (or secretly letting you know that, yes, I’m still alive..ha).

Pinterest is still in beta, and you need an invite to get into the ah-mazing-ness. If you’d like in…send me your email addy! :)

Mama MIA…

M.I.A…Mama Mia..either or, I hate that I’m not posting as much as I want.

Time has been flying so fast, I don’t even know where to begin. From not even posting a single picture from our Maui trip (BACK in the beginning of JUNE), to Keoni’s 5th birthday (LAST week), I feel like I’m failing at this whole blog thing. I hate to think I don’t have the time, because heck, there is 24 hours in a day, but man oh man, I seriously don’t have the time.

I can truthfully blame the following (in no particular order – well maybe because that’s what comes first to mind):
Facebook and all it’s interestingness
Pinterest and all it’s acebookingness (ha, sorry, yes I’m sleepy and tried to make a funny when i noticed my last descriptive word)
Family time, because yes, they deserve some ‘Mommy time’, not the I see her in her office time
School is back in session, for me. Yeay me and furthering my education!
…and lastly, I feel I lost some followers for my MIAness and no one would be reading this ANYWAYS.

I want this Blog to be a place I can run to when I have something exciting to say. I want it to be a place where my fellow peers, friends and family and anyone in between go to find out what’s going on about me and get to know me better if they don’t already. I want to make that digital presence to help make another smile, simple as that. ha! Now…how can I make this more interesting? That’s the question.

I will vow to post more (sheesh, I still have a newborn session to post), vow to laugh on here more, and well, share more. So at least show me some love to let me know you’re reading? HA! So here’s my share, because a post isn’t a post without a photo. xoxo
