Boynton Family

With all the bad weather we’ve been having in South San Diego, I was extremely worried about this session. I got even more nervous when Becky called and asked the same question that’s been running through my head,”Will the weather be ok?” The photographer in me was thinking of how much FUN a rainy session at the beach would be, BUT I know it’s not ideal for others. LOL.  I took a deep breath and simply said,”Let’s see how the weather pans out,” and amazingly enough, it was the best days we’ve had at the beach in a long time!

This family is a little more special to me than all my wonderful clients. I worked with Damien at Paradise Point Resort in Mission Bay earlier this year before we both moved to bigger and great occupations. He’s a great fella that had a lot of confidence in my work and my aspirations. I enjoyed seeing the family photos he had in his office and just ADORED Olivia when we was little. To be able to actually meet the bunch and be behind my camera, made me slightly nervous I must admit. But like any other session (especially family sessions), we met, we played and had an AMAZING time. Damien’s family, much like himself, was so inviting, it was like a reunion between two families out to hang out.  OH! Let me add…I LOVE LOVE LOVE when families get silly with me! :)

Thank you Damien and Becky for the wonderful afternoon. I had a great time playing with the kids – so much my body is sore! It was WELL WORTH IT! Looking at all the wonderful captures, it was hard for me to decide which to post…so here are SEVEN teasers to tell a mini story.

One of my silly favs!

DiSalvo Family

This weekend held true to my typical weekend, BUSY! From dinner in Fallbrook, getting the cars serviced (yes, I said CARS), an evening social event for the hubby’s work, and a wonderful family session, I could honestly say, it was a GREAT way to ‘end’ the summer.

The DiSalvo family came all the way from Arizona! What better way to end the summer than with a family session at the beach. I was a little nervous that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate with them, to be honest, but Mother Nature pulled through, and I am ecstatic with what I’ve captured. I couldn’t help look at all the photos last night and seeing the love, the laughter, and serenity this family gave me all in a moments time. It’s moments like that I love capturing. It’s those moments that mean so much to the heart, and to have it in a frame, is priceless.

Wendy, thank you so much for believing in my work. I had so much fun with your family, I wish that you lived closer so I can meet baby #2 (and get my lens on him/her as well LOL).  Have a safe trip home and enjoy your teasers!

Baby Tyler

I was very much excited to photograph a wee little 9 day baby this morning by the name of Tyler.  When I arrived at his home, I had a routine set in mind. We rearranged furniture for the most perfect lighting. I set up my heater, my white noise, and had all my tools laid out accordingly. I layered all my blankets accordingly – black blanket, a safety, a cream, then safety, then the brown. Safeties are blankets to catch little accidents and wont ruin my next blanket in line. Tyler was in the midst of dozing off, and we were READY! …or so I thought.

Little did I know, Tyler had his own scheme plotted out. I can honestly say this little boy was one of the most challenging newborns I have ever captured. As innocent as this little man may look in photos, he wanted to let me know who was boss, and of course, it was him.  Don’t think of any curly poses, or any shots involving me to move his feet, even. Mom told he he hates being naked, and you know what, she was right! I was nervous, and yes, I was scared, but then I remembered a blog post from Shawn. I needed to change my gameplan and work the magic the way Tyler was comfortable doing so. So I took a deep breath and dove in, trusting my eye, and letting all ‘just happen’. I’ve told myself and others many many times that I’ve always wanted to have a more lifestyle approach to shooting, and you know what, Tyler taught me that. I hate to have to admit that it took a little newborn to ‘push me off the cliff’ to learn, but he did, and yes, I did…and I can’t thank him enough for it.

Marigie and Tha, thank you so much for having me over to capture these moments, here are your teasers.

AND JUST BECAUSE I had to share a Raider Baby with my last newborn session, I have to represent a Charger Baby as well! :)

Baby Fabian

If this boy didn’t give me baby fever, then I don’t know! LOL. He was so tiny, it reminded me of when my little girl was born. Little Fabian was so good to me, he barely made a peep the entire time I was there. With him being a mere 7 days, he was such a superstar. This born model didn’t need any breaks, fell right asleep and posed himself most of the time. He’s very calm and collect, just like his dad.

Jorge, it was so nice to see you again, all grown up now! :) It was great to meet your wife and your little one. Enjoy your teasers!

..and as much as I’m a CHARGER FAN, I figured you’d like this.

Two of a Kind

I know having twins is a tough job, but these two made my job E-A-S-Y! Not only did we have so much fun, I had a great workout. ;)

While getting to know Bryn and Blaine, I can’t imagine a more perfect pair. First of all, having one of each gender is WOW already. Then having them each be different in personality yet so alike at the same time just made me want to learn more about them! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Bryn’s beautiful locks, and not to mention Blaine’s boyish demeanor. With the time we spent with eachother making the loudest of sounds, and jumping around like no one was looking (ok, so I was making the loudest sounds and jumping around), getting a hug from Bryn and a wet kiss from Blaine just melted my heart.

Kellie, thank you so much for bringing out the two to come and and play with me and my rugrats. As I mentioned to you before, I commend you!! You are indeed very lucky to have these perfect babies! I’m glad to have shown you Balboa Park, and I’d love to suggest more fun go to places in San Diego once you’re all settled! :) Here are your teasers.

AND BECAUSE I COULDNT HELP SHARE THIS ONE WITH YOU….

Baby Isa

What a doll!! For being 3 weeks old, she was super tiny and was made my job COMPLETELY easy. She slept as soon as I got there, didn’t soil a single item, and STAYED asleep even after I left.  She is precious in every way. From the tiny toes, to the sweet rosy lips, I couldn’t get my camera off of her. She is the ying to the yang, as she is the 3rd of 3 girls.  It was great to meet the older sisters as they showed pure energy and excitement for their baby sister.  As I spoke with Dad, he told me they were trying for a boy, and were happily given 3 girls.  Jokingly I replied, “3 stikes’, and he smiled and said…’more like homeruns’! HOW SWEET!! :)

Mom and Dad, enjoy your teasers!

Baby Jake

With great pleasure, I had the opportunity to photograph a boy named Jake.  Oh how tiny this little boy is! With his wee self came with a wee squeak which was just so darn cute! Granted he was breech, this made for a very curly baby! FUN! It was a full house there, with grandma and grandpa coming all the way from Philadelphia to visit.  I’m so happy the weather is just beautiful for them.  Maybe, JUST maybe, this WILL want them to move out to San Diego, right Lauren? :) Even though that’s just icing on the cake since Jake is here! hehe.

I can’t share too much since we are planning to create some birth announcements and I would hate to spoil it!  Thanks Lauren for having me over to meet Jake, you and the family.  I couldn’t ask for a more smaller, sleepier and curly little baby.

and because I REALLY had to show of this OH SO CUTE hat that Grandma made!!!

Baby Abigail

My first baby girl of the year! Remember THIS belly? Yup, this is her.  I’ve been waiting as patient as I can for Baby Abby’s arrival (being 1 week late and all).  She was the sweetest and curliest 9 day old, I couldn’t stop taking pictures of her. I kept telling Sharon that I was COMPLETELY jealous of all that hair Abigail had.  At a whopping 10 months Kayla has less hair than Abby at 9 days! SO NOT FAIR!

Sharon and Kyle (and Hosky)…CONGRATS! Baby Abigail is simply beautiful.  Here are you teasers.

Baby Ava

Without further adieu, we welcome Baby Ava.  She’s the wee one of the beautiful maternity session I had at the beach with Angela and Brett back in August.  This little girl was a little too comfy in mommy’s tummy and refused to come out! Nonetheless, the extra baking made her extra squishy! :)  She was such a good girl during our session, I couldn’t stop clicking away.  I think I clicked so much, she was giving me the stink eye..haha!

Brett and Angela, CONGRATULATIONS on a beautiful baby girl.  Makes me reminisce of the days when Kayla was that tiny! Here are your teasers!
